After weeks of scouring reviews for this Yamaha RX-V667 and similar featured receivers, I opted to pick one example up. I would consider this a mid-level receiver with a good deal of features. One of the many good reasons I chose this receiver was it’s HDMI support. Not only does it provide an ample amount of HDMI in’s, helpful used when the receiver isn’t utilized. I like to use this feature when i am playing a game that WE don’t need sound for. The RX-V667 offers an lot of connections on the back including analog and digital. It is able to mix old equipment like turntables along with new equipment like HDTV’s and video games consoles. Its nice to not really need two separate amps. The down side to this very, is that your analog input might be digitized before being output to loudspeakers. If this is an issue for any user, I would recommend having an analog amp in addition to this receiver.
This is a 7. 2 channel receiver meaning it may well accept 7 satellite speakers (1 cardiovascular channel, 2 Front (Left and Right), 2 Section (Left and Right) and 2 Backed (Left and Right). It also is able to have two sub woofers. I understand it set up with a 5. 1 list of speakers and it sounds fantastic.
An ideal feature of this receiver is the overlay. When using a video reviews, you can open the overlay menu and change settings during the receiver. Its a really nice element, especially for initial setup. You can modify the speaker settings, out put configuration settings, equalizer settings, and many more.
The remote is well laid out and has several features. It can be programed to regulate other things, including TVs. This is a nice feature because numerous remotes in a tv setup is escalating.
Set up on this Yamaha RX-V667 is very easy. You connect all of the speakers, peripherals, TV, etc and connect the mic. This mic configures your receiver good placement of your speakers.
The sound quality with this receiver is superb. At this price point not a single thing with comparable features that sounds a similar.
