fibbieboi asked:

Hi there I recently purchased an xbox 360 the one that comes with the one month free xbox live. Anyways, I have a home theatre system set up in my living room where my 360 is, but for some reason I cant get my xbox 360 audio to come out of my home theatre system speakers. It is a dolby digital 5.1 and I put it on that settings in my 360, I tried just plugging my red and white audio cables into the home theatre system and turning it on/and leaving it off and the sound still wont come out of there.

PLEASE HELP

Clemente

  1. Check your Xbox manual. I think you will have to use the digital optical output on your Xbox and the optical input on your sound system. The red, white and yellow RCA plugs are for analog audio and video output. You’ll need an optical cable, which I think Xbox has as an optional accessory.

  2. red and white rca cables do not send 5.1 digital signals. try switching ur 360 back to stereo audio. if that does not work, ur home theater system is on the wrong input. try changing it to auxillery or stereo, (whatever the label says where u plugged in the cables) or until u get audio.

  3. you have to put your stereo to the output you plugged it in to so if you put it on video 1 or dvd you need to push dvd or video 1
