I have a Acoustic solutions Home theatre system (DS733) It has been in storage for about a year but when I come to set it up, only one output (left speaker) works. I have eliminated the fact that all the speakers work by connecting the speakers individually to the one working output so I know the fault is not in the wiring/other speakers. When I switch it on, I hear all the relays click consecutively (as it used to). But still only one output. There is a low noise (feint electric hum/hiss) coming from all the speakers when they are connected up.
After looking inside the unit, there appears to be no loose connections and after taking it to a repair shop he said there was nothing wrong with it and applied some extra solder on the PCB tracks.. ? (£15 for this kind gesture).
Anyone with a bit of electronic knowledge like to answer this one with a few suggestions as to what could possibly be wrong with this system?
Thanks in advance.
Its doesnt have any sort of receiver. Its a base unit/subwoofer that has phono/coax/optical inputs for dvd player and tv etc. The output is 5.1 surround sound (decoder built in).

Is there a receiver with the unit? It sounds like an issue with receiver powering your speakers. Some receivers have an A/B switch, and if one switch has speakers and the other doesn’t the neither output will work.
