Matt asked:

It’s an older sony receiver with only rca inputs. All of my devices are componet, I’ve got nice bose 201 v speakers so I want the best sound. I only need to connect it as stereo. Would tv video out into receiver input suffice?
I didn’t mean video-out.
Can’t I run a High quality rca cable from my tv AUDIO out into my receiver audio input? I mean componet consists of 2 audio ports (stereo) and 3 video, right?

  1. lolz well you can’t get the best sound with budget speakers - $200 isn’t a lot.

TV Video out will not give you sound!

Your TV should have RCA Audio outputs - as should your DVD player. The sound quality is certainly going to be adequate, TV isn’t HiFi you know ;)
