For many people price is the most important factor when buying a TV, although price is a great way to determine what TV to buy that would suit your family, it should not be your primary deciding factor. Brand, as well customer service support, should actually be your primary consideration when buying a TV. There are Cheap TVs that come from a known and trusted brand that will offer you great customer service.
The most trusted TVs come from brands such as: Philips, Panasonic, Pioneer, LG, Samsung, Hitachi, JVC and Sharp as well as Visio. All of these brands have great customer service and great prices, although you will pay a little more than the unknown or generic brands of TVs. Buying from known and trusted brand is definitely worth the slightly higher price tag.
Off-brand TVs are almost always cheaper, but buying a cheaper off-brand TV could end up costing you more in the long run than you could have ever initially expected. Off-brand TVs are hard to find parts for and their bulbs usually have a much shorter life span, which could cause you countless headaches when your TV needs to be repaired, which is a mostly unavoidable outcome.
If you do end up fixing the TV yourself and buy parts, customer service will be a necessity your success with your TV. You will most likely need to call the company and talk to a customer support technician, who can guide you through the repair. Off-brand TV companies usually have very poor or non-existent customer service, which could end up being the death of your new, but recently broken TV.
Off-brand companies have little or no customer service because the TV is usually made in a factory in China and shipped directly to unknown importers. This may seem like a good idea because it keeps the consumer cost down, but in reality they don’t have a company reputation to uphold and ultimately care less about the satisfaction of their customers.
Another reason to purchase a well known brand TV is because they usually have the money to invest money into the research and development of their TVs, which means that your TV will have technology and performance that an off-brand TV cannot possibly compare to. The off-brand televisions, since they generally don’t invest as much into the quality of the product, are sold with second rate circuitry and wiring which makes it inferior to the main brand products.
The last reason to purchase a known brand TV is quality. As stated above, off-brand TVs aren’t from an actual company with a reputation that they need to uphold. They usually don’t care as much about the quality of their TVs and can’t possibly be held to a high standard that known brand TVs are. This means that the company, or lack thereof, is a lot less likely to offer warranties and their TVs often need to be repaired sooner than their better counterparts.
Overall, it is advised to stay away from Off-brand TVs and if you’re not sure about the Brand of TV you’re interested in buying, then do some research or simply look for a better quality TV. Be sure to take a closer look at the TV you’re interested in before purchase, and make sure that it reaches some of the standards expected from your main brand companies. If you’re not sure that it does then ask someone at the TV store or better yet, look for a better TV. And finally remember, cheap TVs are like anything else, you get what you pay for!]
