Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is a good projector to buy for a home theatre? I am looking at spending around $1500. There are just endless amounts of ones to choose from. I am looking for a fixed screen as well. Any suggestions as to where to buy one in Canada online or in store?

This is the best place to get started:
I’d pick from their list. The Sanyo Z700 is about 1800 but it’s a 1080p projector and a lot for the money. The Panny AX200 and Optoma HD65 are very good for the price (around $1000)
Lots of online retailers for projectors and screens that will ship to Canada. Checkout They may not be the cheapest but I have bought from them and they’re very reliable.

Check out the Infocus X9 which sells around $1,500 at infocus.com. It’s the best deal in a DLP 720i projector which is capable of viewing 1080i Blu-Ray DVDs and HDTV.
Good luck!
