Brian H asked:

Could anyone tell me some reliable and efficient free dvd players for Windows XP?
I’m using AVS right now.. It looks fine. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks.

  3. if you have a dvd drive you can download something called the k-lite mega codec pack, this installs all the codecs you will ever need along with an improved version of windows media player classic, this application can be used to play DVD’s and all other media

i myself have used this before without any other dvd software installed and successfully played DVD’s :) bear in mind i have only tried this with XP but for any1 else reading this it should work with vista…maybe

    hope this helps

  4. I’m a huge fan of VLC Media Player. It’s not much to look at, and it isn’t always perfect, but it plays DVD’s with menus just fine, and it plays an absolute TON of other files and formats as well. For what it does, it’s very small and efficient - 14 MB download including support for almost every codec known to man. Best of all, it’s *completely* free, as in speech; VLC is open-source software.
