A digital receiver is attached to a home theater to receive high frequency signals. This is mostly really easy if you purchase a home theater system package because the instructions that go with it are very clear and match with the elements provided. However , if you are assembling your home theater, do not forget to buy the right kit for the set-up.
Before connecting the receiver to the home theater system, ensure that the receiver has enough connections for handling all the elements that will be attached to it. The input connection of the receiver must match with the home theater system. This connection can be established in one of 2 ways by utilizing either a coaxial or an optical connection.
Utilize a cable to connect the DVD player to your receiver. The sound and video outputs of the DVD recorder of the digital receiver must be attached to the video and sound inputs of the DVD. A fresh video wire is used to build a direct video connection between the TV and the high-definition receiver. If both the DVD player and the receiver are compatible with HDMI, you can use a single HDMI cable.
The receiver, home theater setup and DVD player must be placed as close as possible to each other. Nonetheless they must not be placed one top of each other. This is because when everything is plugged in and working, these components can get actually hot. If you’re short of space and you’ve got no other alternative but to stack the components one on top of the other, use a thin sheet between every one of the components to reduce the heat.
Connecting the speakers of the home theater set-up to the receiver is a straightforward task to do. Just establish a direct one to one matching connection between the two components. For instance, the front left speaker must be connected to the front left of the receiver, the center of peaker must be attached to the centre of the receiver and the like.
To attach the home theater subwoofer to the receiver, you require two accessories. These are a subwoofer cable and a Y adapter. Plug the right and left inputs behind the subwoofer in to the Y adapter. Connect the other end of the Y adapter to one end of the subwoofer cable.Take the other end of the cable and connect it to the receiver. If you do not have a subwoofer cable, you can use an RCA cable which frequently comes as a pair. In this example, one of the wires will be left hanging.
