  1. I would avoid it. Kick it up a hundred bucks or so and you can find a DLP projector on eBay that will project much cleaner (and probably much brighter) images. And a DLP projector won’t weigh 120 pounds. Compare the 160 lumens output of the Sony to 2000 lumens or more you get from a digital projector.

    Unless you’re committed to the concept of a projector in general, consider getting a regular screen. LCD TV’s are coming down in price, and you won’t have to deal with setting up the screen and making sure your room is totally dark for the best image.

    I had a projector for my home theater for awhile, and I’m really glad I gave up on all that claptrap and got a proper HDTV screen. Doing projection properly is hard and costly.
