mikenuthead asked:
I already have my tv connected to my audio in jacks (red white), now I also want to be able to run my ipod through my home theatre system. Can I hook up a splitter to my audio in jacks, creating 2 audio in jacks?
If not, is there an alternative way for me to listen to my ipod through my home theatre system?

Yes you can but you’ll need a conversion cable to switch from the a/v audio jacks to a mini sound. Other than that it shouldn’t be too hard.

A splitter should work just fine. Just don’t run your ipod at high volume to prevent causing any damage to the leads on your audio system. Not likely, but just in case. Just set your ipod at medium volume, and use the volume of your stereo to adjust.

I use to run my PC to my home stereo, still would if the sound worked on the PC. If iPod has a speaker out, or headphone, yes it can work. If the speaker out, headphone is 16ohm, it will work easy.

its hard to say if it will work since i havent tried it before but what you can do is to get a total of three cables. one for the t.v, one for home theater system and one which will have only one pin at one end for the ipod. now you need to buy what is called RCA jack to RCA jack. this link has what i mean. its the 2 on the bottom left corner.http://www.globalsources.com/gsol/I/Plug-adapter/p/sm/1002814064.htm now connect one cable to the t.v, one to the home theater and leave one around for the ipod. now connect the two jack connectors to the cable on the home theater system. all you need to do now is to switch between the t.v and the ipod through these rca jack to rca jack connectors. it works for me perfectly and i switch between 5 electronics, the t.v, ipod, ps2, dvd player and vcr deck. good luck
