You should just use the dvd player on the computer because it isn’t defined by the region code.

Yes and no. Computer wise you can change it. But if it’s strictly a machine DVD player (not attached to a computer), then it’s hardcoded for the region.
Keep in mind too that if you do change the region on a Computer’s DVD player, you can only do it so many times before it’s locked down. There’s way to get around it though with software, but it may cost you in the long run.
