If it’s a small room and you have efficient speakers and the amp really is capable of 1000 watts RMS (doubtful) it may even be more than you need. That said, the efficiency of the speakers can make a big difference … e.g. low efficiency speakers can need as much as 20X as much power to give the same loudness level as high efficiency models.
Keep in mind that a 3 dB increase in loudness is barely audible, yet takes 2X the power. 2X the loudness requires 10X the power. So, if you think about it if 1000 watts gives you a loud sound, 500 watts would be barely quieter, and 100 watts would only be half as loud.
Short answer: It’s plenty of power unless you want to have threshhold of pain volume levels.
