Your home theater box has 3 analog stereo input jacks on the back, also known as “RCA” jacks. They come in pairs [red-right / white-left]. So, all you need is a 1/8″ stereo jack with about a 3 foot or longer male/male cable plus an adapter that changes the other end into two RCA plugs. Those two plugs go into one of the audio pairs on the back of your box. Find these cables at radio shack or wherever and be sure you get the STEREO 1/8″ plug. It has two black rings on the stem. The 1/8″ stereo jack plugs into the iPod’s headphone jack. Then when you want to listen to your iPod, switch the input to be from the analog audio that the iPod is connected to.

Go to best buy and ask an employee for ipod to rca cable. Buy this and go home to you theater and go to back of it where all the connections are. Find a free spot, for example “input 4″ and connect the red and white cables to the corresponding red and white spots under the input you selected. Then plug your ipod to the other end of the cord and switch your sony to the input you plugged the cords into (for example input 4) and your ready to rock and roll!
