I am going to have to assume you have cable TV, maybe even HD cable. I don’t know anything about your TV, so this will be with that in mind. Hooking up the home theater itself should go according to the book that came with it. Is there not diagrams showing different hook up scenarios, depending on what you want to hook. If you only want to connect the home theater to the TV, you need some way for the receiver with the DVD player in it(I looked it up) to receive audio from the cable box, or the TV. If you have cable coax, hook that to “cable-in” on cable box. Using another piece of coax, go from “cable out to TV” to the cable-in on the TV. Using either composite or component cable, go from A/V connection on TV to the same on back of DVD receiver. Component cables have 3 male connectors on each end; 1 green for video & 1 red & 1 blue, thes 2 for audio(right & left) . Composite cables have 3 on each end too, only in this case the yellow is for video, the red & white for audio. The component ones are best because they will handle any resolution, whereas the composite will only handle 480 resolution.
With that hooked up, the only thing left is use an audio cable(2 male connectors on each end,red & white) to go from audio-out on the cable box to the audio-in on the receiver. If I guessed right on the cable box hook up & what connectors are on the back of your TV, it ” SHOULD” work, with the emphasis on “SHOULD” !!! GOOD LUCK !
