If your TV has audio out. Make Sure to connect the AUDIO OUT from your TV to any available AUDIO IN to the receiver of your home theater. Then to listen to it just select the proper function. For example in you connected it to AUX select tat function to listen to the audio.

yes, it’s true that you have to hook the tv up to the receiver using the a/v (white and red) cables. but then you would also want to go to the menu in the tv and make sure that the internal speakers are turned off. you may also need to turn the volume of the tv up. this would be in the case that the output on the back of the tv is of the variable variety. if the output is fixed then you would not need to adjust the volume on the television. make sure that wherever you connect the tv on the back of the receiver labeled IN, you have the receiver on that function.

Whatever source you are using to get your TV signal (cable box, satelite box, etc. ) must be hooked into yout Phillips receiver as an input (either thru a video in source, aux, DVR, Video 1, Video 2, etc. Then you can hook up your TV itself as an output (which is what is really is). Good Luck.

You hook up the TV to the stereo (in the back) which is hooked up to the speakers (in the back)
