depending on the possible outputs on your vaio. Amplifier must support all kinds of input.

If your vaio has an HDMI cable slot, get an HDMI cable and use that for sound. If it doesn’t use the 8mm speaker jack and buy an adapter to hook it up to the theater.

Assuming you have an AV receiver, it’s pretty easy. Hopefully you got a Radio Shack near you.
A computer’s sound card will have one of two audio outputs; 3.5mm audio jack or toslink optical. The latter is uncommon.
Your AV receiver will have red/white RCA stereo connectors and a toslink optical. If you have the optical on your computer, then you can go optical to optical. If you have 3.5mm audio jack on your computer, then you can buy a red/white RCA to 3.5mm male audio adapter/cable.
It should cost under $10 for this cable.
