okay thanks alot guys! its was the hookup. i unplugged and plugged it all up and now it works good.

Not sure but the only references I found to protection in the 92 page online manual were not of this type. I suspect you have a problem with this unit and it may need servicing.

It is entering protection mode for a reason. either you have a bad hook up, or the amp is damaged. Check your connection by removing them and then replacing them. If that doesn’t do it, then get it looked at. Or as cheap as Sonys are get a new one.
