jodie750 asked:
hi i have an lg all in one dvd recorder 5.1 home theatre system with all the speakers that came in the box with it.
i am thinking of adding a second dvd player to my system to save wear and tear on my expensive dvd recorder.
what sort of dvd player do i need and what cables and leads will i need so i can use a second dvd player with the 5.1 speakers i already have?

You can use a second player with the existing HT only if your existing HT has a digital audio input (coax or optical). If there is no AUX input, then there is not much you can do except perhaps listen to two-channel audio.
So, get a DVD player and connects its audio out to the appropriate inputs in your HT. Connect the video out to the TV.
All DVD players have analog out, but if your HT has a digital audio input make sure it matches the digital audio out on the DVD player (coax or optical)
