RCA RTD206 Home theatre system. Has two audio in hookups, three video out component hookups (three plugins) and then one separate video hookup (yellow). The TV has two audio out hookups, then three input hookups and three DVD in hookups. I have an additional VCR that is hooked up in all of this. Cable runs into it, then into the TV. Nothing else is hooked up to it. So, I can put a DVD in that machine and it will play through the surround sound speakers, but when I put the DVD in the RCA system, I get sound but am not getting the picture. Can’tigure out what I have done wrong. Figured I would try this first before I call somebody in to help my technophobe self. Thanks for any help!
Well, it is actually a DVD/VHS player. We don’t have cable. Big antenna in the attic runs through the cable line. So that runs into the DVD/VHS player and out into TV. three way monster cable hooks from the TV to the new RCA system. Blue & red from RCA Audio in to TV Audio out. Then the yellow to the separate Video out on the RCA to the TV video input. Tried putting the TV on DVD or on AV (only have one choice on the AV). AV & DVD just give me black screen - TV option just gives me the usual snow on Channel 3. Tried switching the monster cables around in different configs. with no luck. Oh, now if I put the DVD in the DVD/VHS player, I have sound and picture but don’t get any sound from the rear speakers. AUGGHHH!!
Oh and no, the sound does not change. I continue to get the DVD soundtrack no matter what channel the TV is on. Thanks.
