Im Interested In Setting Up A Home Theatre System.
No Where Near Ready To Do This Now But Was Just Thinking On Ways To Do It.
In My Theatre Room I Want:
Receiver
DVD Player
Computer For a Movie Database
And Home Theatre Surround Sound System
And A Projector
My Question Is Confusing: Sorry.
My Question Is:
For The Computer:
I Want The Computer To Be Hooked Up Obviously To The Projector And Surround Sound.- Through A Receiver- (HD-MI Ports) How Does This Work - Since You Have One HD-MI Port Going To The Projector And — Where Would The Audio Go? -
Any other Suggestions Are Appreciated…
Like I Said - Just Planning

Hi there I recently purchased an xbox 360 the one that comes with the one month free xbox live. Anyways, I have a home theatre system set up in my living room where my 360 is, but for some reason I cant get my xbox 360 audio to come out of my home theatre system speakers. It is a dolby digital 5.1 and I put it on that settings in my 360, I tried just plugging my red and white audio cables into the home theatre system and turning it on/and leaving it off and the sound still wont come out of there.
PLEASE HELP

I have a home theatre that I am happy with and do not want to replace. However, I have just renovated and had outdoor speakers installed through which I’d like to play music. Ideally, I would have liked to have played music through the hts to the outside speakers, but it is only a one-zone set-up (i.e. I can’t switch between inside and outside speakers). Can I hook the outside speakers into a normal stereo system to play music, or do I need an amplifier (what’s the difference??). To me, the home theatre and outdoor sound are totally seperate issues because I do not want to replace what I have now, but everyone I’ve consulted (sales people) want to talk me into buying a whole new hts.
My other question is to do with my existing home theatre. The manual says a VCR can be connected through the Audio 1 inputs but I don’t have a VCR anymore. I imagine a DVD Recorder could go here, but what else? (Yes, I know this must sound like I’m clueless but when it comes to this stuff I really am!)

I think the problem is my comcast DVR, but I’m not sure. I have an Onkyo 5.1 receiver and the Comcast HD DVR. When I hook up the optical audio cable to the Onkyo receiver, I get a high pitched ringing. I don’t get this when I hook up my dvd player through the optical cable so I’m sure it’s not the receiver. When I use analog cables from the DVR I don’t get the ringing noise but It still sounds like crap. It sounds distorted, kinda how it sounds when you have a cd player hooked up to external speakers and the volume on the cd player is turned all the way up. Anything will help, thanks.

Hello, I just bought a new HDTV. I am wondering if there is a cheap way to make a home theatre. Preferably under $300. If that is not possible under $500. Please provide any links for tutorials or websites. Thank you for all you help.

I would like one that is compatible with my wii, and mp3 player, and also has a dvd player (full system) I would like to spend $100-$400, and it is for use with my projector in my movie room.
I’m looking at the Sony DAV-HDX500/i BRAVIA Home Theater System and it says it has an mp3 hook up etc… a wii won’t hook up to that?
