I needed to enhance my receiver from a non hdmi Yamaha HTR-5890 to hdmi one. Reviewed a lot of receivers and paid for a Denon AVR990 7.1-Channel Multi- Zone Home Theater Receiver with Networking Capabilities and 1080p HDMI Connectivity. Onkyo has produced some upgrades on the NR609 opposed to the predecessors. There is a fan on the prime for additional cooling. Sounds like Onkyo has finally noticed the problems of the prior owners of over heating receivers. Thanks to Onkyo, for placing this extra fan. The remote is very well planted out and simple to use. The THX Music and Cinema location both work very nicely for my home theater systems.
