   This is the best bet. Go to local Best Buy etc. Check out the setups they have and go from there.

   as per the last answer - Best Buy is a great place to find this kind of gear - for under $1000 you could get sony or panasonic system that would be more than adequate, in fact most in that price range would be quite the system.

   If you goto a local steroe/tv shop they could possibly put together a system of various components (possibly higher quality) than an all in one system. this wlil give your husband a little more flexibility to upgrade in the future

   The “Denon DHT687BA” is also a good system.
